If everything MidCentury Modern makes you drool you are going to go cuckoo for this home. Situated high above in the Los Feliz Hills, Historic Cultural Monument No 674 is a post and beam masterpiece designed by architect Ed Fickett for George and Miriam Jacobson in 1966.
Ficket was known to say “Every window has a purpose, to bring the outside it.” The Jacobson Residence exemplifies this philosophy with its variation in quality of light.
The two story interior atrium furthers the idea of bringing the outside in.
The Jacobson Residence is chock full of what have come to be known as “Fickett details.” Walnut paneling, a menagerie of building materials, custom designed light fixtures and clerestory window to name just a few
The house was oriented to make maximum use of the broad panorama. There are views extend from Barnsdall Art Park to Hollywood.
If living in a historic cultural monument impresses you as much as it impresses me, this house is for you!
